Size

Width is measured left to right. Length is measured top to bottom. The maximum width of your label cannot exceed 8 inches, length is unlimited. Minimum length and width is .25 inches. The standard gap between labels is .125 inches.

If you turn your label due to a width wider than 8 inches, please reflect that direction in your wind selection.

Shape

Due to our tool-free laser cutting system, we do not charge for dies. We can cut your label into any desired shape—just provide a die line on a separate layer of your artwork.

If the shape of your label is not a circle, oval, or rectangle, select "Special". Special shapes can follow the curve of a bottle, or enhance the label design with a unique cut.

If you want your label cut out, not on a roll, select "Sheeted". Decals and bumper stickers are usually sheeted with a silt in the liner for easy application.

4-color Process

To reproduce full-color images, we use digital 4-color process presses. In 4-color process printing, four ink colors are placed on the label in layers of dots that combine to create the illusion of thousands of colors.

To further understand this process, view a picture in a magazine through a magnifying glass. You will be able to see the 4-color process dots (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) that combine to form the picture.

4-color Process + White

4-color process inks are transparent. If you are printing on clear film, fluorescent, or metallic material, you might want to print white behind a picture, barcode or text so that it is more easily seen. Adding white is an additional cost.

UV Varnish Gloss

A coating that gives the label a gloss or shinny finish and protects the ink from abrasion. UV Varnish also protects the paper or film from yellowing.

UV Varnish Matte

A coating that gives the label a matte or dull finish and protects the ink from abrasion. UV Varnish also protects the paper or film from yellowing.

Clear Gloss Film Overlaminate

[Stock# 1943-Q] - 1.1 mil polypropylene gloss film laminate. Provides more strength and protection to the label than UV varnish and provides a gloss look.

Clear Matte Film Overlaminate

[Stock# 103-Q] - 1.3 mil polypropylene matte film laminate. Provides more strength and protection to the label than UV varnish and provides a matte look and feel.

Clear Gloss Film TTR Overlaminate

[Stock# 511-Q] - 1.1 mil polypropylene gloss film Thermal Transfer printable polypropylene overlaminate. Provides more strength and protection to the label than UV varnish and accepts thermal transfer printing.

Quantity

Please type the total number of labels you would like printed. Due to set up costs, minimum quantity is 100 labels.

Versions

Digital printing can save you money when printing multiple versions of a label. Multiple versions of a label are multiple designs printed on the same material and cut to the same shape. Add all label versions together to find your total print quantity. Because pricing is based on total quantity, this greatly reduces your cost per label. When uploading artwork files, please specify the quantity of each version.

Versions

Variable Print

Presto Labels can print your static or variable barcodes and data. Variable printing is a form of printing in which elements such as barcodes and data may be changed from one printed label to the next, making each label unique. Variable information is taken from a database or external file. For example, address labels or date/time stamps are a variable print. Presto Labels can only print variable data in black.

Perforations

Perforations make it easy to tear off a label from the roll. Perforations are located between each label at the gap. The liner is perforated, not the label. You may choose to have perforations, or no perforations, depending on your application.

variable

Auto Apply

Auto Apply is applying your labels by automatic equipment. Polypropylene material cannot be auto applied due to the laser cutting too deeply into the liner.  If you chose a polypropylene material, we can either quote a steel die, or a less costly alternative would be to switch to a polyester material.

Hand Apply

Hand Apply is applying your labels by hand. Polypropylene material can be cut by our lasers if your labels are being hand applied.

Rewind Direction

The rewind direction is how your labels are placed on the roll. Click the button that reflects the placement and direction you would like your labels wound on the roll.

Selecting a wind direction is important if applying your labels by machine. Please select the wind direction button that compliments your label and equipment. Please note that maximum label width is 13 inches. If you turned your label due to a wider width, please reflect that direction in your rewind selection.

If you apply your labels by hand, the rewind direction is not important. Please click the button that is your rewind preference.

Materials

Papers are usually lower cost and lower performance than synthetic materials or films. Use a paper material for indoor product labeling and if the label does not need to be protected from moisture, chemicals, flexing or abrasion.

Synthetic materials are more durable than paper and perform in harsh environments. Use a synthetic material if the label will be outdoors, exposed to heat, moisture or chemicals, or if your label needs to be more durable to withstand flexing and/or abrasion. Synthetic materials print cleaner than papers, and will last a long time outside.

For the best quality print at the most economical price, we recommend using the following materials:

Papers
1) Gloss Paper
2) Matte Litho

Durable Synthetics
1) White Polyester
2) Matte White Polypropylene
